ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The city market building is looking into how the space can improve in 2015. After it went through a massive renovation several years ago, the city put its focus on marketing the building and keeping good tenants there.

Building managers said they are considering better signage, more events, and keeping the place looking as nice as possible.

These items were discussed an open forum Wednesday evening.  Some suggestions from the meeting included having green walls inside to grow herbs for restaurants, holding more activities inside the building, and continually updating decor.

The City Market Building says the new year is off to a good start thanks in part to the Big Lick New Year's Eve Countdown.

"I think it really matches the message of our events, and that people from all walks of life coming and enjoying something and to me that's what the City Market Building is," says JD Sutphin, Big Lick Entertainment.

After the meeting, ideas were written down, prioritized based on popularity and feasibility, and will be presented to the Board of Directors at the January meeting.
