(NBC NEWS) - It's the coffee drink Americans know little about, and Tuesday it goes mainstream.
That's when Starbucks will add the "flat white" to its menu. Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, it may be hard to distinguish between a cappuccino and flat white.

The drink is about two ounces of espresso and covered in four ounces of milk, with less than a centimeter of foam. The drink is similar to a cappuccino, and is basically a condensed latte. Hard to make and define.
The flat white is popular in Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K.
Tuesday, its American popularity could soar as Starbucks will add the flat white to its menu.
