CHATHAM (WSLS 10) – Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve adding 176 acres to the enterprise zone which is land that could be used for future commercial development in the county.
This comes after Pittsylvania County is in the running for a development that could bring more than 800 jobs and $45 million of investment to the area.
The new acreage could mean more business. County leaders are not saying exactly what the new business is that could come to Pittsylvania County, they’re keeping a tight lip.
All board members voted to add another 176 acres to the enterprise zone to create more enterprise.
Before Tuesday night’s approval the county had 3,000 acres available for the enterprise zone, which will be used for commercial and industrial development.
In a closed meeting board members discussed the potential incentive package concerning a prospective business interested in locating in the county.
When asked about the incentive package they would not release details.
