Radford Army Ammunition Plant workers hold meeting to keep people updated

RADFORD (WSLS10) Officials from the Radford Army Ammunition plant held their semi-annual community.

The purpose of the meeting is to let the public know what's happening at the facility… and answer questions people may have about the hazardous waste incinerator.

The incinerator burns materials used in guns the plant produces.

Some people have been concerned about the incinerators effect on water and air quality but leaders say they are following the proper guidelines.

"I pledged to do the right thing, that's the reason why i'm here that's the reason why the army still has control," Lieutenant Colonel Luis Ortiz said.

The RAAP's next meeting will be held in May.
