The same man is now facing charges of abduction, rape and threat or intimidation of a juvenile.

Jonathan Craft pleaded guilty to "obtaining money under false pretenses," a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with 10 months suspended. Craft will also have to pay $1,300 in restitution to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Virginia, which is where the money donated was supposed to go.

Craft was taken into custody on November 7 for the rape and abduction charges. On Monday, Craft appeared in Campbell County Juvenile and Domestic Court for a preliminary hearing on those charges that were filed Nov. 2 and 3. The case will be presented to a grand jury in January, 2015.

Craft's 13-month old daughter, Veralee, was severely beaten and killed in 2010. Her mother, Chelsy Lawrence, was charged with felony child neglect in July.

Lawrence's former boyfriend, Preston King, is serving a 32 year prison sentence for killing Veralee.
