When you think of Feeding America Southwest Virginia the warehouse probably comes to mind.
Last year about 20 million lbs of food came through the warehouse, but really the difference the food bank makes happens in its nearly 400 partner agencies.
Children Feeding Children on Melrose Avenue in Roanoke City gets a lot of its food to fill boxes from Feeding America.
"I don't turn anybody away. We will help them every way we can, no one goes without a box here," explained Clarissa Hale, Children Feeding Children Building Manager.
"For me it's really uplifting when I see people who are able to be fed and I personally have embraced this mission and it's a great thing, I love it," said Walker Nelms, Feeding America Southwest Virginia, Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
