ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A new Roanoke restaurant is making a difference for local service providers, and they aren't even officially open yet.

Mission BBQ at Towers Shopping Center is opening its doors Wednesday night to friends, family, and fans of the Roanoke City Fire Department.

A hundred percent of the proceeds will be given to the fire department's charity of choice which is the MDA.

Thursday night Mission BBQ doing the same thing for the Roanoke City Police Department and its charity "Operation Life Saver."

"It's important for all of us to get back and we wanted to build a business that has significance and meaning and gave back to the community. So we are not a nonprofit organization, but we save a little bit of the seeds from the harvest get back to our community," explained founder, Steve Newton

If you would like to support the fire department Wednesday night or the police department Thursday night stop by anytime between 6 and 9 p.m.
