ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - November is Diabetes Awareness Month and the disease impacts more people in Virginia than some might realize. 

  • More than 10 percent of Virginians have Diabetes
  • That is more than 630,000 people in The Commonwealth
  • Diabetes increases the risk for heart disease by 2 to 4 times 
  • Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure
