Liberty University announced they're holding a candlelight service for Johnathan Gregoire on campus 8 p.m. Monday, November 10, on the steps of DeMoss Hall.

As we've reported, investigators say the two were on the train trestle when they were struck by the oncoming train. It happened Saturday at approximately 4:20 p.m.. Police and Lynchburg Fire and EMS responded to Riverside Park.

University President Jerry Falwell released a statement saying, "Jon will be terribly missing by so many at Liberty University. He was known and loved for his adventurous spirit and his spiritual depth. The Gregoire family will be held up in prayer by the entire Liberty University community."

Robin Chapman, spokesperson for Norfolk Southern Railway said they currently have big fences there, warning signs, and that it's dangerous and illegal. The signs also state previous deaths in that area.

Chapman said a group called Operation Lifesaver also talks to incoming students about the dangers of trespassing on the trestle.

Police say they do not suspect foul play but are still investigating.
