Pulaski (WSLS) - Both the town of Pulaski and Pulaski County receive recognition for their rebuilding efforts following the 2011 tornado disaster.

Governor Terry MacAuliffe presented the Best Housing Program or Service Award to the localities at the annual Governor's Housing Conference in Norfolk last week.

During the last three years, nearly 100 homes have been rebuilt, repaired or replaced.

Town and county leaders say they are proud to receive this award, but they hope it means even more to the residents who were affected by the disaster.

Leaders say there are still a few houses they would like to do some work on, and they will be applying for grant money to get that started some time next year.
