(WSLS) His teammates call him “the bus.”
Glenvar’s version of the former Steelers great Jerome Bettis is Tyler Smith. He was running over Radford like he was late for the station on Friday night. The Highlanders back carried 30 times for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns, with none bigger than the winning 10 yard scamper in the game’s second overtime.
The Highlanders outlasted Radford 27-21 to move to 9-0.
Smith’s TD runs were 2, 10 and 10 yards. Most importantly, the performance helped put the Highlanders in a battle of undefeated teams at Giles for the Three Rivers District Title.
Tyler Smith, AKA ‘the bus,’ is our Stop-In 1st and 10 Player of the Week.
