Avis is credited with bringing back the Mill Mountain Theatre -- where he served as a board member and then president.

"It wasn't just me," he said. "A lot of hard working people put their brains together to come up with the solutions we needed."

He talked to us about how two seemingly different interests, construction and theater, play such a crucial role in our region.

"I think it's vital for economic development and quality of life in the region. And tourism and education for the youth and adults for that matter," said Avis.

Nancy Agee, CEO of Carilion and Ab Boxley, CEO of Boxley Materials are the laureates who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

WSLS-10 anchor John Carlin will be hosting the event.
