ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS) - Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that claimed the life of an 80-year-old woman. 

The crash happened Monday afternoon shortly after 4 p.m. along Rt. 11 northbound two tenths of a mile south of Rt. 716 in Rockbridge County.

Troopers said the preliminary investigation revealed a 1989 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Dreama M. Franklin, 80, of Fairfield, Va., was traveling north when she failed to yield the right of way, and was struck by a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. 

Franklin was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash, but was pronounced dead at the scene. 

State police are not releasing information about the driver of the Jeep Wrangler at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
