ROANOKE (WSLS) - It's time to vote to help feed the hungry.
September is Hunger Action Month, and Feeding America Southwest Virginia is one of 128 food banks in the country in the running for a large grant from Walmart.

Fifty food banks will receive $60,000 each from the retailer, but only those that receive the most votes, and right now Roanoke is behind in the voting.
"This particular funding is going to fruits and vegetables in our new veggie mobile. So it's going to help us provide fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals in need in the immediate Roanoke area," said Food Bank Executive Director Pam Irvine.
Irvine said the important thing is to vote every day between now and October 5, so Roanoke can get its share of Walmart's $3-million offer!
