Roanoke (WSLS) --- Thousands of people showed up to get school supplies in Roanoke.
People lined up at William Fleming High School on Saturday as early as 7 o'clock to get school supplies and students met with principals from different schools.
There are nearly 700 students that are homeless this year and parents say this is a big help.
I think Roanoke city comes together every year I work out of town in another city that does the same thing I think it's really good for everyone to come together and realize just what we can do for our kids, Tiffany Weeks a parent said.
