Roanoke Police investigating shots fired

ROANOKE (WSLS) - Roanoke Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident on the 300 block of Harrison Avenue N.W. 

Police say it happened about 10 p.m. Saturday night when a patrol officer heard gun shots in the area.

A second officer responded to help. When both officers approached an alley they believed the shots were coming from, they saw the suspect run toward Rutherford Avenue.

Police say the officers couldn't catch the suspect and last saw him on Madison Avenue.

The suspect is described as an African-American male, likely in his 20's, 6'0" tall, with a slender build with shoulder length corn rows in his hair.

There are no reported injuries from the shots being fired.

The investigation is on going.
