BLACKSBURG (WSLS) – The Virginia Tech Autism Clinic is getting ready to launch a new session of a program designed specifically for teenagers.
It is called the PEERS program, and it is for middle and high school students with autism who want to learn ways to create and sustain friendships. Parents also receive separate training on how they can play their part.
Experts at the clinic say there are many resources available for young children with autism, but teenagers often do not receive the same amount of attention.
The PEERS program kicks off later this month and runs through December.
