Tremaine Edmunds Commits to Hokies LIVE on WSLS-10

Dan River star Tremaine Edmunds chooses Virginia Tech over Maryland, USC and Wake Forest on Thursday during WSLS 10 at 6 p.m. Sports Director John Appicello introduced Edmunds along with Jason Stamm of HokieHaven.com, and then Edmunds announced his selection and dawned a Virginia Tech cap with brothers Trey and Terrell (both Hokies) looking on. Edmunds didn't share his decision with anyone but his family, so coaches around the nation found out when everyone else did -- during the WSLS 10 6 p.m. sportscast. The announcement was streamed live by Hokiehaven.com and Rivals.com.

Edmunds explained that from his perspective, Bud Foster's nationally ranked defense year-in and year-out helped him make his decision. Tremaine is projected as a linebacker at the next level.  He is currently the 15th ranked linebacker in the nation, and the 11th ranked player overall in the state of Virginia. That despite playing multiple positions for the Wildcats throughout his career, including wide receiver, defense back and fullback.  The four star recruit bolsters the recruiting class for Frank Beamer's 2015 class in Blacksburg.
