Christiansburg Aquatic Center Holds West Virginia State Swimming Championships

Christiansburg (WSLS) - The "Christiansburg Aquatic Center" is a staple in the town of Christiansburg.

This weekend the center hosted the "West Virginia Long Course Championship."

The director of championship competition says the reason is because there are no facilities that are capable of holding the meet in the entire state of West Virginia.

He hopes West Virginia will have a facility like the aquatic center in Christiansburg.

"There's no suitable pool in the state of West Virginia, I'm sorry to say, to hold this type of meet we want to hold it indoors due to the fact of the possibility of thunderstorms or cooler temperatures like we're experiencing right now," Greg Olsen, Director of the swim meet said.
