More stores calling Valley View Mall a permanent home

Roanoke (WSLS) - By the end of 2014, permanent occupancy will be at its highest level at Valley View Mall in at least 15 years.

Only one store will be on a short term lease by the end of the year.

Compare that to five stores last year.

General manager Louise Dudley is excited about the progress.

She says stores that call the mall a permanent home tend to invest more in their store and inventory than temporary shops.

Dudley says an increase in permanent stores also helps bring investment to the surrounding area.

By the end of this year, occupancy is expected to be at 100%.

Four new stores are set to open in the coming months: clothing stores H&M and Versona, Ntelos Wireless, and  Feah Brow Beauty -- which will feature eyebrow threading and other salon services.
