(WSLS)- Secretary of State John Kerry meets with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin today at the state department. This comes after Kerry called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine's conflict zone Sunday as well as negotiations between all conflicting sides. Both leaders are also expected to discuss the ongoing international investigation into the shooting down of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17. 

The U.S. Senate is expected to consider the nomination of President Obama's choice for Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Robert McDonald. If confirmed, the former Proctor & Gamble CEO and U.S. Army veteran said he would take a series of immediate actions to deliver the care that veterans deserve.

A man charged with kidnapping a New Hampshire teenager who was missing for nine months appears in court today. Investigators say 34-year old Nathaniel Kibby kidnapped 15-year-old Abigail Hernandez last October. She returned back to her home last week. 

Belk's Mobile Mammography Center will make a stop at River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg today to offer free and convenient mammogram screenings. Women 40 years old and over are eligible. The bus will be parked outside of Belk from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m..
