Hokies Coaches Tee It Up at the Greenbrier

The annual Greenbrier Classic Pro-Am is routinely filled with prominent figures from the world of sports, politics and entertainment. That trend continued in 2014 from Duck Dynasty to George Lopez--and plenty of big name coaches from surrounding college programs. The Hokies were well represented with legendary football coach Frank Beamer and new Basketball coach Buzz Williams teeing it up.

The two were paired with former ACC golfer and Georgia Tech star Cameron Tringale in Wednesday's activities. Coach Beamer is an avid golfer who has faired well in many ACC/Coaches golf tournaments over the years. Beamer says the day is a positive for all involved--getting a chance to watch a PGA tour pro manage his game. Tringale is an avid football fan who was looking forward to picking the brain of the longtime successful college football coach. Williams admitted to not being a good golfer, and says he actually asked to be Coach Beamer's caddy but that request was denied. The two were looking forward to spending some time together to get to know one another. Buzz was hired this spring by new Athletic Director Whit Babcock. The 5th edition of the Greenbrier Classic tees off Thursday from White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
