Project Move Up

As baby boomers get older the term "aging in place" is becoming more popular.

Lesa Myers, the President of "Project Move Up," is a company in Blacksburg that helps seniors who don't have family nearby to move and organize their household items properly.

Myers says she started the business after losing her mother last winter.

Now she helps seniors who need an extra hand to de-clutter their house and make it more senior-friendly.

According to the United Health Foundation Senior Citizens Report that ranks states based on quality of life for seniors, Virginia ranks 21.

The report says one of the challenges the commonwealth faces is a low percentage of quality nursing home beds. It also says 1 in 4 seniors reported a fall in the last year.
