Floyd Co Softball Eyes Repeat Title

It's no secret that the girls athletes at Floyd County high school are as good as it gets. They have constructed a powerhouse on the basketball court...and have all the raw materials needed to build something of equal stature on the softball field---including a few pillars borrowed from Coach Cantrell's Lady Buffs basketball team. Both Christene Phillips and Aimee Royal were on the state title hoops team in 2012.

The Buffs softball team boasts a record of 13-4 on the year and 7-1 in district play, but two of those losses came early. Something the girls nipped in the bud quickly. They realized nothing would be handed to them, and committed to working hard to get better.
Phillips is the ace on the hill..and her arm has landed her a place on the North Greenville(sc) University Team next season.   Combine that arm with great focus, and you have one of the many secrets to Floyd's success.

The Lady Buffs have two more regular season games before the postseason---on ethat has everyone in Floyd hopeful of a repeat state title.
