The owner’s of Virginia’s Assisted Living Facilities are talking to repair men to get the power back on and the sprinkler system fixed.
This comes after 22 year old Steven Don Crowder of Roanoke crashed his vehicle into the building while trying to outrun police.
Howard Childress of Roanoke built this facility and says the 27 residents who lived there are currently in hotels.
He’s also talking to insurance companies to find out how much they’ll have to pay to get everything fixed.
“I would think between $850 $900 to maybe close to a $1000 a day,” Childress said.
The Red Cross has helped as well for the hotel costs as well.
“Making sure they had a contingency plan I know that the owners are working hard to get to electricity on as soon as soon as possible so they can get residents back into a place both a normal place and safe place to be,” Lee Clark Regional CEO of the Red Cross said.
