Women in Roanoke say building a house by themselves is empowering.
It was for the "Women's Build Week" for Habitat for Humanity.

Volunteers say they are happy they can build a house independently.
"Women want to do this but they are intimidated by having the guys around they wouldn't measure up and when they get here they found out they are just as good as any body else that's how I got hooked," Penny Bryalry a volunteer said.
