Youthful Experience to Lead Wildcats Football

This coming high school football season you will see a new face calling the plays at Rockbridge County High School. After a 14 year stint, and 10 as the head coach--Jason White is stepping away from the game.  But stepping in is Justin Akers, a 27 year old former D-1 football player from Baylor..who is grateful for the chance to prove himself.  Akers was hired as an assistant coach last year, and his resume may have been the determining factor in him landing that spot..due to his references. Akers played under coach Art Briles at Baylor, where he had 89 career catches at tight end.  And that's sweet and everything, but when you hear Baylor, I know what you are thinking--Does he know RG III??  The answer is yes, and that's something his players go crazy over. Akers explains that the kids are constantly bothering him for RG III's phone number, but he calmly explains that the Redskins quarterback is a professional and has many constraints on his time.  But at a youthful 27 years of age, his credentials are substancial, and the Wildcats future appears to be bright.
