Short tracks across the country fill up on weekends with drivers trying to prove their selves in classes from mini stock to late model. This weekend at Franklin County Jonathan Merryman was behind the wheel of a U-Car built by Winslow Motorsports.
Earlier in the week Merryman turned a lap of 18.5, a lap that is solid for a rookie’s first outing in the U-Car division.

Driving the 2 car, Merryman drew the 10th starting spot and passed a few cars until the left front tire blew halfway in to 25 lap race. Car owner Eric Winslow said Merryman “overdrove the car” causing the air pressure to build, ultimately causing the tire to let go.
Merryman would go on to finish 12th in the 15th car field.
