On Friday, students from Virginia Western Community College (VWCC) debated the legalization of marijuana. It was part of the bi-annual debate held by the Madison Society. Students either argued the pros or the cons of legalizing the drug.
"My argument for the pro side is the cost benefits of marijuana and how lucrative and profitable the business is as well as how many jobs it could create" said Matthew Morris, VWCC student.

"I think it is really a play of morality, when you consider the youth of today" said Thomas Albert, VWCC student. "Because if they were to legalize it then it would open up accessibility to the drug."
Judges scored the speakers for categories such as clarity and presenting research to support their case.
