Fast food restaurants eyeing the Roanoke Valley

This week, people in the Roanoke Valley will hear more about two fast food restaurants that want to open in the region. Developers with McDonald's submitted plans to build a site near Clearbrook Elementary school. A public meeting about the proposed site takes place on Monday evening at Clearbrook elementary.

"We are going to have the McDonald representative come in and give us specifics about the project" said Tammi Wood, Roanoke County planner. "We also have VDoT coming because there may be traffic issues people are concerned about."

McDonald's isn't the only fast food place eyeing the Roanoke Valley. Owners of a Chick-Fil-A want to build a store in the Bonsack area. A public meeting about that site is planned for Thursday
