It was at the tender age of 12 years after writing a his self published novel “Treasure of Gold” Duke Carter wanted to tell stories for the rest of life.
He was born in Jacksonville, FL and later attended school in New Orleans, La where the writing bug bit and never let go.
Duke wrote several short stories and is a published poet in “Celebration of Young Poets” when he was in middle at St. Peter Claver.
During his junior year of high school, is when he, along with the hard work of parents Duke Carter Sr. and Joyce Carter published his first novel called Treasure of Gold.”
Duke later attended the University of Florida, same college John Appy went, where he majored in Telecommunications and is proud Gator Alumnus. (Go Gators) He’s worked in several markets including, Baton Rouge, La. Gainesville, Fl, and now Roanoke, Va.
