Leonard, Peoples and Coach Williams Take Home Honors at 1st And 10 Banquet

The 2013 high school football season is in the books and three individuals took home hardware from the 1st and 10 high school football banquet Tuesday evening in Roanoke.

Josh Leonard took home the first annual Josh Leonard Character and Commitment award.  Josh’s hard work throughout the year was the reason WSLS 10 decided to honor him with the award in his name.

Steven Peoples took home the Player of the Year honors. Peoples set a VHSL single game rushing record this season as he helped his team win his fair share of games.

Coach of the year went to Jeff Williams.

Coach Williams led the Spartans to an undefeated season as well as his first state title as a head coach.  Williams won the title as a freshman at Giles, and twice as an assistant coach.
