Bethany Teague joined the WSLS team in December 2013.  She reports in the Christiansburg bureau covering the stories of the New River Valley.

Prior to WSLS, Bethany was a weekend anchor/reporter at WOAY in Oak Hill, West Virginia.  There she spent time covering everything from coal miners’ fight against black lung disease to the rise of the tourism industry in the southern region of the state.  Her favorite story from the Mountain State was getting to meet a World War II veteran and sharing his legacy with viewers.

Bethany earned a degree in film and visual media from the University of North Carolina Asheville.  She joins meteorologist Kristina Montuori as the second Bulldog women’s soccer alum at WSLS.

Along with soccer, Bethany enjoys playing and watching just about any sport.  You might also catch her out drinking a milkshake (or two), and going to the movies.  Although a beach girl at heart, Bethany has come to feel right at home in the mountains, and she is excited to be in the New River Valley.

Bethany’s favorite part of the job is meeting people and telling their stories, so if you have anything you want her to hear about, or just want to say hi, send her an email at
