ROANOKE, VA – Some people are concerned that Downtown intersections have become increasingly dangerous for pedestrians.

 Here are the facts.

From 2008 to 2011, there were a total of 11 accidents involving pedestrians. The highest number for that period was in 2009 with four accidents.

Last year, there were seven accidents.

This year, there have already been seven accidents through July 21st. Four of those incidents occurred between the hours of 4pm and 10pm.

However, no accidents have been reported this year at the intersection of Franklin and Williamson Road.
