Patrick Henry girls lacrosse downs Salem, Spartans boys remains unbeaten

ROANOKE, Va. – River Ridge District lacrosse action pitted a home-and-home between Salem and Patrick Henry. At Gainer Field, the Patriots girls program hosted Salem. They held a 6-1 advantage at halftime and managed to keep the same grit going in the second half.

Anne Thomas and Rylee McNeill helped the Spartans score goals late but Salem struggled with winning face-offs throughout the night.

Patrick Henry took advantage and yielded scores from Kathryn Cumins, Addison Gibson and Gracie Greer among others to pull off the 11-3 home victory.

On the boys side of the match up in Salem, the Spartans and Patriots had quite the battle between two unbeaten programs. Salem outscored Patrick Henry 6-1 in the second quarter, jump starting a smooth offensive attack. PH was held to just one goal in the second half as Salem won 13-5 to move to a 12-0 record this season. The loss proved to be the first of the year for the Patriots (10-1).
