Deputy, driver hurt in Bedford County crash

Two people, including a deputy were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday in Bedford County.

According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was responding to a emergency call for service at around 3:57 p.m. in the Stewartsville area.

Authorities said while attempting to turn onto Beagle Club Road from Route 24, the deputy was involved in a crash.

We’re told the deputy and the driver of another vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries to be checked out.

Virginia State Police is investigating the crash.
